TRAIN TO THE NEXT LEVEL USING PRO TOOLS WITH PRO COACHING!

Coach Ronnie Hreha grew up in Asheville playing soccer for TC Roberson and the HFC soccer programs. He then went on to play D1 Collegiate Soccer at ETSU and Semi-pro in Tennesee. He now has his Master’s in Exercise Science, NSCAA Goalkeeper I & II Certifications, and United Stated Soccer Fedaration NCYSA National License. Hreha is currently an Assistant Coach with Asheville City Soccer Club and UNCA along with formerly coaching at App State. As our Director, he combines his education in Exercise Science and Sport’s Performance with playing experience and high-level coaching experience to lead HF CES and give back to the local Asheville athletes. Along with education and experience, he has developed a 7,000 sq ft facility with Strength Racks, Rubberized Suspension Flooring, Turf Area and then adds in high level Pro Tools like the Vertimax Jump Trainer and Polar Heart Rate Training to train Asheville Athletes Like the Pros - using the same tools he used to be competitive and win championships!

In addition to Soccer Coaching and Performance Training, Hreha also specializes in Goalkeeping. He was a D1 Goalkeeper who took his team to the NCAA tournament, he has coached Keepers at Asheville City Soccer Club Semi-Pro Team, App State University, and University of NC Asheville. He trains with Vertimax in the facility and takes you out to the field to work with you on technique in the goal! Hreha’s Goalkeeper Training is a supplemental training program designed for goalkeepers to master fundamental techniques and focus on components of the game. Learn how to “command the field and control the box” Hreha states! Work on your vertical jump, explosive kicks, quick reflexes, overall speed, and agility in the HF CES studio with the VertiMax tool. Work on Goalkeeper Specific drills on the soccer field.

HF CES Curriculum includes individual technique, tactics, and position specific development for the goalkeeper. In select sessions we will have goalkeeping classroom sessions covering analysis, positioning, communication, and more. In other sessions, we will be on the field implementing. Both on the field and in the studio will be a challenging, high-level functional training environment for goalkeepers with aspirations of playing on elite teams, college or beyond. This program is for goalkeepers proficient in the technical aspects of goalkeeping who want to train within a high intensity environment to push them to new level. In closing, learn in the classroom, get assessed on the field, work hard on needed skills in the studio, and then back on the field to evaluate.

Learn and master weightlifting technique, movement assessment, motor learning, and advanced biomechanics. In addition to covering scientifically based concepts to optimize training and skill learning, a large portion of the course will be hands-on teaching and application of specific weight lifting techniques.

Learn from highly effective weightlifting coaches and Exercise Scientists, who will help you safely and effectively implement Olympic lifting movements in training to make you STRONG for your sport and in everyday function! This program balances hands-on learning, in-depth discussions of technical progressions, and science-based programming information.

Meet Coach Ronnie

Ronnie Hreha is our HF Center of Exercise Science’s Head Scientist and Program Director, with his Master’s in Exercise Science and his high level coaching experience; he understands what is needed to train extensively towards a goal. We are proud to have him as our leader.

In addition to working with us, Hreha is currently working with the Asheville City Soccer Club as their Sport’s Analyst, Assistant Coach, and Goal Keeper Trainer. He is also the Assistant Coach for UNC Asheville and contracted by the United States Soccer Federation Youth as the Team’s Physiologist for training camps. Recently, he held the FC Dallas Tri-Cities as the Director of Sports Science and Director of Goalkeeping titles. Three years prior, he was the Assistant Coach and Director of Goalkeeping with the Appalachian State D1 Men’s Soccer Program.

Hreha is well versed in different peak performance systems and highly trained to work with athletes in Sport Science. During his stay at App State, he helped build their program with the New Peak Performance Training System of GPS and Heart Rate Monitors. At HF Center of Exercise Science, he works with Polar Heart Rate Training Systems. At USSF National Teams he does extensive work and reporting with STAT Sports System. In addition to system knowledge, reporting and presenting, he has worked to obtain high level education and certifications. Along with his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science / Kinesiology, he holds a United States Soccer Federation NCYSA National “C” License, NSCAA Goalkeeper I &II Certifications, and has his USAW Lifting Certification.

Meet Coach Marisa

Marisa Romeo is one of our Exercise Scientists. She earned her Masters in Sports Science and Coach Education from East Tennessee State University. In addition to working with LWA, she currently works as a Strength and Conditioning coach for Asheville City Soccer Club, Warren Wilson College, and HF Center of Exercise Science. Prior to this, Romeo was the Assistant coach for the Warren Wilson Men’s soccer team, Director of Sport Performance for the Warren Wilson Men’s basketball program, Strength Coach for Milligan College’s Cross Country teams, and volunteered at UNC Asheville’s Strength and Conditioning department. In addition, she has worked as a NASM Personal Trainer for the past 7 years. Marisa graduated from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. During her undergraduate studies she performed research examining the effects of short bouts of physical activity on transient mood states in college students. At Warren Wilson, Marisa was a member of the women’s soccer team, earning honors as a 3-year captain and a first team All-American.

Meet Coach Georgia

Georgia Walker is one of our Exercise Scientists. She has trained a variety of populations since 2010. She has traveled the Southeast training at Colleges and Universities, as well as performance centers and interval training studios. She has a very diverse background that helps aid in her ability to meet all her clients where they are in their fitness journeys. She has worked with top Division I athletes as well as general population to be strong. Georgia helps her clients reach their goals through injury prevention/recovery and progressive, science-back programming. She is the owner of www.gwalkerperformance.com
